Aydin Boho Top

Ok, so your shape has changed (happens to us all at some stage), your clothes don’t fit (you’ve lost/gained weight) and you have to start building your wardrobe again! After many years dressing many different women, I have a wealth of knowledge to share about how to create your own look, using basic principles that everyone can use to their best advantage.

Let’s start with casual/house clothes; the ones you will wear most days. Look around for good quality bargains as these are the ones that will be washed the most.

Most of us have favourites that are our go-to for everyday dressing. This is where quality comes in; obviously you want your clothes to last as long as possible, especially those one offs that can’t be replaced. Durable fabrics and good workmanship are the features to look for. Fraying, loose stitching and poorly sewn on buttons are indicators that an item is not particularly well made and may not go the distance.  Hot tip: Wash and wear items can be dried on a hanger; no ironing required!

Bargain hunting is a fun sport which can yield great results.  We all have our favourite retailers that we like to shop with, so start there. Get on the email list to get advance notice of promotions, keep an eye out for end of line mark downs and check that sale rack regularly! You can nab some amazing buys that way. Also, don’t be shy about having a look in the stores you might not usually shop with. Our boutique, for example, always has at least one rack with a variety of garments as low as $30.

Let’s recap:

Every day wear: value, quality, variety. It’s completely possible to achieve all three and have fun while you’re at it!

How about you? Tell us the story of your best ever bargain find!
